THEME
Immigration is a core issue addressed by the Committee on Democracy, Social Cohesion and Global Challenges. The recent humanitarian disasters in Central Europe and off the Italian and Greek sides have moved the peoples of Europe and highlighted its complexity. These initiate a displacement of the center of gravity of Europe which puts the Mediterranean in its former role as a crossroads and challenge for Democracy. NGOs and INGOs on the ground need to coordinate their efforts to encourage States and European institutions to act more vigorously.
OBJECTIVES
Give support to NGOs facing migration phenomena.
NGOs need to understand
2015 : 20-22 November MIAMSI Colloquium : Mediterranean, a way through the sea
2016 : resolution submitted to the Conference of INGOs
2017 :: seminar on " "Immigration, a democratic issue for Europe and the world""
